Shark Allies: Defenders of the Deep
Who are they?
Shark Allies are the ocean’s bodyguards. They’re not just talking about saving sharks, they’re out there doing it. From battling finning bans to shaking up policy, they’re the real deal in shark conservation. A non-profit organisation was founded in Hawaii in 2007 and was incorporated in California in 2014. They have continued to grow, underscoring the importance of shark conservation for marine ecosystems.
Why Radical loves them:
At Radical, we believe conservation should be fearless, science-backed, and people-powered. Shark Allies walk the talk. Their campaigns bring real results, not just awareness. We love their passion, transparency, and grit. Coming from a shark-obsessed girl, they get it!
“Sharks are essential for healthy oceans, and we’re here to ensure they survive and thrive.”
— Stefanie Brendl, Founder of Shark Allies
